SFR Special Solo Classes for 2011 PDF Print E-mail

  • Indexed Class  (Formerly called the PAX Class) The Indexed Class gives top autocrossers a chance to compete with others of their own skill level for trophies. There are no specific requirements for the class, but competition is expected to be intense! Indexed drivers run in one run group and their times are indexed using the SFR performance indexes for the current year.  Finishing positions at each event are determined by the indexed times. There is no separate Indexed Ladies class.
Class Identifier is X- followed by the car's normal class, for example X-AS for an A Stock car, X-OSP for an Open Street Prepared car.
  • Novice Classes   Two Novice Classes gives new participants a chance to compete with others of their own skill level for trophies. One class identified by NS- is for Street Touring category cars, the other identified by N- for all other cars. These are separated because Street Touring cars must run in street tires, and so their indexes give them an unfair advantage against the other classes who are expected to run competition radials. Both Novice classes run all together in one run group and their times are indexed using the SFR performance index for the current year.  Finishing positions at each event are determined by the indexed times and separate trophies are awarded to N- class and NS- class (Novice Street Touring). Novices may only run on street tires, treadwear rating of 140 or more.
    Novice class rules are HERE.
There is no separate Novice Ladies class.
Avoid confusion of Novice and Street Tire Classes:
If you are a Novice you don't want to run in Street Tire class.
Novice class runs on street tires in their own run group. Street Tire Classes (see below) are unrelated, and run together in their own run groups, and there is no "Novice Street Tire" class. If you run in Street Tire class you compete head to head with open class drivers and there is no Street Tire Novice trophy.
Class Identifier is N- or NS- followed by the car's normal class, for example N-AS for a novice in an A Stock car, NS-STX for a novice in a Street Touring Xtreme car.
  • Street Tire Classes -- SFR runs four indexed Street Tire classes (Just as in previous years).  These classes are indexed using the SFR performance indexes for the current year.  Stock Street Tire and Stock Street Tire Ladies allow stock category cars running street tires to compete;  SP/SM Street Tire and SP/SM Street Tire Ladies allow SP category and SM cars to run on street tires.   Must be legal according to their class rules.  Must run tires with treadwear rating of 140 or more.
Class identifier for Stock Street Tire is T1- followed by the open class, like T1-BS or T1-HS
Class identifier for SP/SM Street Tire is T2- followed by the open class, like T2-BSP or T2-SM
For Ladies Classes, use T1L/T2L, like T1L-BS or T2L-XSP
  • KARTS  SFR runs the SCCA classes for shifter karts and Junior Driver Karts.
